Andrea’s Michif Language Album

Andrea worked with Michif Language Keepers on 13 simple, singable, “giveaway” songs, dedicated to preserving the Michif language for the Métis people. This album, called Askoonamakew lii Shansoon (Giveaway Songs) is meant to spark a resurgence and generate pride in the future language speakers in our community.

Through the support of the Gabriel Dumont Institute and the Canada Council for the Arts, the songs were released in November 2022.

Andrea’s Theatre Show, Rubaboo

Rubaboo is a 90-minute Metis cabaret that premiered at the Grand Theatre in London, ON and the Arts Club Theatre in Vancouver, BC, that continues to tour across Canada.

Derived from the Michif word for “stew,” Rubaboo takes audiences on an intimate, moving, and joyous musical journey into the beauty of Métis culture.

This musical feast features Andrea’s original music and stories, with songs of unity, love, frustration, and resilience.
