Nobody Owes You

The Patchwork Grandmothers are my incredibly wise and loving, ancestral teachers who see with a higher perspective on the other side of the veil. They watch over their grandchildren, who are their human family. Their message today is: no one owes you.

This is a tricky one for us human beings. I had a pretty strong attachment to believing that people do owe me, or this world owes me. I wrestled with this one, so the only reason why I can even bring it up and let it come through me is because I’ve come to understand their perspective. And it’s a good one. For many years, and for many scenarios and situations that took me a long time to dissect, I believed that the world owed me. They owed me for the wrongs done to me, to my family and to my people. I held on to those wrongs very strongly, but I was hanging onto a victim’s stance. I was hanging onto a place of powerlessness. Yet somehow, hanging onto that victimhood and believing people owed me, gave me power.
