The Patchwork Grandmothers are my incredibly wise and loving, ancestral teachers who see with a higher perspective on the other side of the veil. They watch over their grandchildren, who are their human family. Their message today is: no one owes you.
This is a tricky one for us human beings. I had a pretty strong attachment to believing that people do owe me, or this world owes me. I wrestled with this one, so the only reason why I can even bring it up and let it come through me is because I’ve come to understand their perspective. And it’s a good one. For many years, and for many scenarios and situations that took me a long time to dissect, I believed that the world owed me. They owed me for the wrongs done to me, to my family and to my people. I held on to those wrongs very strongly, but I was hanging onto a victim’s stance. I was hanging onto a place of powerlessness. Yet somehow, hanging onto that victimhood and believing people owed me, gave me power.
The Grandmothers want us to know that that’s not real power. Power over little fights is not real power. Power over is not the same as powerful.
Knowing your power as your connection to the Creator, as your connection to Mother Earth, as your connection to each other—that is power. That kind of power is compassionate. That kind of power is encouraging others to be powerful too.
The Patchwork Grandmothers always come from the perspective that you are an equal, sacred, human family and worthy of so much love. With that, you can see how our attraction, and our addiction to ‘people owe me’ is something the Grandmothers want to release in us. Because, owing somebody, or somebody owing you, makes you feel disconnected from them. They are your enemy. They are someone you need to get something from. This is a false belief. The Grandmothers say, “You have everything you need. You are a part of the Creator—you are a spark of the creative fire. You are infinite, eternal, all of those unlimited words that can be difficult for human minds to understand. You are that powerful.”
You are connected to everything, which means you have all of those resources. You just don’t know how to use them yet. That is why the Patchwork Grandmothers urge me to share these messages, because humans are not great at using these resources. We don’t know how to be that powerful, omniscient person, because it seems that we are small, we have no power, we have such limited skills. That kind of mindset is crumbling. We are figuring out how to be powerful, and how to realize that no one owes us anything, because every journey, everything that happened to us on our journey was for us—was for our spiritual growth. It may not be that we liked it. Our human selves, we may have hated it. We may have been in despair, in grief, in trauma. We may not believe it’s part of our spiritual journey.
There are collective journeys too. There is the personal, and then there is the collective journey. As we know, certain nations on this planet have gone through collective trauma. The Patchwork Grandmothers, from their perspective—remember it’s a higher perspective—they say, “My grandchildren, this collective that you are a part of, that was part of your collective journey for the betterment and the growth of all.”
Remember, we are a human family. We are connected. We have evolution to achieve together. We are together in our desire for peace on this planet. From where we sit it doesn’t feel like peace is very close. All of those experiences that we feel people owe us for, was part of our collective journey. It’s a tough one to swallow, but a beautiful one if we can really rise up to that perspective—no one owes us.
Think on that one, my friends, and know that the Patchwork Grandmothers have our best interest at heart. So, if they say that one today, let’s see where it sits.
